I have two major projects for Christmas gifts this year. My twin sister requested a cross stitch of either Stan/Kyle or Spock/Kirk. I asked which she would rather have first, since stitching takes a pretty hefty chunk of time to complete, and she chose Spock/Kirk.
So currently a 8x11 inch cross stitch of Spock/Kirk (not graphic or even explicit in the relationship, but hints). It is a 9 page pattern, with each page not too huge, and I have 1 page done as of now. I expect to finish it before the new year. Unfortunately it is probably too optimistic to hope for one page per week since finals are coming up with college work and having to work at Wal-Mart, too.
My other project is a blanket/quilt for my step dad and mom, which they also specifically requested. My stepdad, being a huge rock/KISS fan, not to mention bass player and singer himself, gave me a metric crapton of his old KISS and rock t-shirts that were in good shape, including some from his band, and asked me to make a king sized (or as close to it as possible) out of the t-shirts.
It's quite a big endeavor, but I'm super pumped about it and have started the process of cutting and interfacing the shirt panels. Last Christmas I made a patchwork quilt for my grandma but because of time constraints, lack of access to a camera/internet over my school break, I was unable to take a picture of it. Suffice to say I probably wouldn't post it anyway. It was my first attempt at a blanket/quilt and, while mamaw loved it, it wasn't very good.
Update of my life? Not much. I went to Disney World in October, started psychotherapy last week, and still continue to waste my time working for Wal-Mart and am trying to see school as NOT a waste of time.
Also it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but the missus and I might put up the tree tonight, because we need a little spirit in us and I'm tired of waiting. Usually the tree doesn't go up until Black Friday, but I dunno if we're gonna wait that late this year.
