Vincent and Red XIII X-stitch by theygotme Vincent and Red XIII X-stitch by theygotme
Red XIII and Vincent of Final Fantasy 7, Advent Children, and Dirge of Cerberus fame. A (late) Christmas present for my twin sister, who loves Vincent.

Some ring creases in the scan, because I did not have enough time to let it flatten before scanning it. I plan on kidnapping it soon, ironing it, and rescanning it.

Image was taken from this lovely drawing, so if you would like to comment on the original art, please do so there.

Editing, pattern, and actual stitching are all my own.

22-count aida, I believe. It was actually a bit of leftover I had.

Approximately 6"x9".

Wow, this is amazing. My two favorite characters in FF7. Certainly nothing short of dedication. Awesome job, theygotme :)

Thank you very much! It was my first ever cross stitch, and it still hangs proudly on my twin's wall. I'm very proud of it, despite it's numerous little quirks and mistakes. Thanks for your kind words!

Those quirks and mistakes are probably the most special thing about it :)

Were you serious about it being the "first ever cross stitch"? Cause if so, I'm blown away by your patiences and dedication

Yep, totally serious! I lived in a dorm room at the time and got a wild hair and said "cross stitch seems cool, I think I'll try it". Didn't have a single supply, didn't know what I was "supposed" to use, so I just went out and winged it. The only thing I started out with was a list of colors, haha.

If you'd be willing to part with it, I'd love to buy this pattern from you.

If you just wanted to buy the pattern, it's not for sale (I did not make the original art, just created the pattern for it) but I'd be happy to share it with you! Since it is not our original art, I will gladly give you the pattern (provided I Can find it), as long as you don't profit from the results like selling the finished piece or selling the pattern again. Sharing is caring and such!

If I can find it! I made it several years ago, but I SHOULD have the digital pattern somewhere buried on a hard drive in the closet or something. You know what I mean, haha. It's bound to be somewhere, I just have to try and find it.

I am just recovering from a move to a new house, and don't have internet yet for another week or two, so bear with me and I will see if I can find the pattern for you, and we'll go from there.

Thank you so very much! There's no super rush, I was hoping to make it for my boyfriend as a Christmas present. Which is still quite a ways away. :) Good luck with the move. Thanks again. :D

I did a version of this myself. I never posted it though because I wasn't sure of the etiquette. I'm a bit new here. I've been over at the sprite stitch forums for a while though.
Very nice work!

That's epic!
Mine was a little balloon held by a teddy bear =[ it's not as cool but it was a big achievement when I was five.

That is adorable! I know you were kind of asked this before, but how did you make the pattern? Any specific program/site you can recommend?

I don't have the pattern with me right now, but it MIGHT be stuck on my external hard drive somewhere- I'll definitely have a look and get back to you!

Thanks! I made the pattern on my computer (there's a bunch of tutorials around the net on how to do it, or you can use a special program). I think there's a website or two that will convert images to patterns as well.

Yeah, it was pretty difficult/long getting all the editing and such done. Luckily I did most of it on my computer, editing-wise, so that saved me from having to do it all out of paper, which would have sucked.

Thank you for your compliment!
